BT Group

A modest bounce for the BT Group share price this morning after the company announced a global JV with US telecoms giant Verizon. This is to allow each company to better focus on their domestic markets but will see BT receive a balancing payment of $625m. Against the company’s £20bn market cap that’s unremarkable but does this pave the way for further collaboration between the two? The BT share price was up 1.5% in early trade.

Bridgepoint Group

The FTSE250 listed investment company Bridgepoint advised the market this morning that it had acquired Kane Anderson Real Estate for just under $1.4bn in a combined cash and shares deal. The move is expected to be earnings accretive, boosting Bridgepoint’s EPS by more than 20% in 2028. The Bridgepoint share price was up more than 10% on the back of the news.

Eco Atlantic

The offshore oil & gas exploration company provided an update this morning, noting that it had received formal ministerial approval from Namibia relating to a previously announced farm-out agreement. Management see this as being a key milestone for the business as well as underlining the strength of the relationship with the Namibian government and the market is evidently in agreement. The Eco Atlantic share price was up 9% shortly after the open.
