                          PLACING & ADDITIONAL LISTING

Application has today been made for 4,000,000 new ordinary shares in Tertiary
Minerals plc ('the Company') to be admitted to trading on AIM. These shares are
being issued pursuant to a placing for cash at 15p per share to raise £600,000
(before expenses) and have been placed with institutional clients of W.H.Ireland
Limited, the Company's broker. These funds will be used by the Company for
further exploration of its mineral projects in Scandinavia and for working
capital. Dealings in the new shares are expected to commence on Monday 1st March
2004.
