Princess to relaunch investment activity

The board of Princess is pleased to announce the Company is relaunching its investment activity. Princess will commit EUR 30 million into Partners Group Direct Equity V. The fund will be focused on acquiring a globally diversified private equity portfolio targeting high quality mid-market companies where Partners Group has formed the conviction that it can lead a proactive value creation and entrepreneurial governance approach to improve and transform those companies.

With this new commitment, Princess will gain exposure to four private equity Lead¹ investments, two of which are new to Princess which were made by Partners Group in the last few months. The new seed investments are SureWerx, a leading North American manufacturer and supplier of safety gear and equipment, and Cloudflight, a leading digital transformation services provider in the DACH region. At the same time, the Princess portfolio will gain additional exposure to Breitling, the Swiss, high quality, neo-luxury watchmaker, and Foundation Risk Partners, an independent insurance broker assisting businesses and individuals navigate the intricate US insurance landscape. Over the investment period, Partners Group Direct Equity V is aiming to have approximately 25 companies in its portfolio.

Moreover, Princess plans to invest in additional Direct² Lead investments this year by investing alongside the Partners Group platform to give investors access to middle market businesses in sectors with strong growth characteristics. 

Active growth is key in a new era with higher rates and without valuation tailwinds.

Richard Battey, Chairman comments: "This commitment announced today is in line with the Princess strategy to have a majority of the portfolio in Partners Group Lead Investments which the investment manager believes offers the most attractive growth profiles in a new era with higher rates and without valuation tailwinds. It will also allow the Princess portfolio to be further diversified by geography and vintage. I am pleased to see investment activity in the portfolio gaining traction again."
