Notification; that L&G's total interest was in 5.1% of NG voting ordinary shares
(132,566,418 shares) at 1 October 2007 (having previously notified a 4.55%
interest at 27 September 2007).

This notice is given in fulfilment of National Grid plc's obligation under the
DTR requirements.
