                   McBride plc - Announcement of new Chairman


McBride plc, Europe's leading supplier of private label household and personal
care products, is pleased to announce the appointment of Iain Napier as
Non-Executive Chairman. Iain will succeed Lord Allen Sheppard who, in September
2006, announced his intention to retire from the Board following the recruitment
of his successor. This change will be effective from 1 July 2007.


Iain is currently the non-executive Chairman of Imperial Tobacco Group plc and a
non-executive Director of Collins Stewart plc. He was previously Group CEO of
Taylor Woodrow plc prior to which he was a main board Director of Bass plc. His
previous non-executive Directorships include Henderson Administration, Perry
Group plc and BOC Group plc.



Colin Smith, senior independent Director, said:

overseen substantial changes in McBride over the past few years and leaves us

role.'



There are no further disclosures required in compliance with paragraph 9.6.13R
of the Listing Rules in relation to Mr Napier's appointment.
