Martin  Currie  Portfolio  Investment Trust plc, on 9 April  2010,  bought  back
15,000  ordinary  shares  at  a  price  of 125.6667p  per  share  for  immediate
cancellation.

Following this purchase 113,992,878 ordinary shares remain in issue.
