Martin  Currie  Portfolio Investment Trust plc, on 27 April  2010,  bought  back
10,000  ordinary  shares  at  a  price  of  124.5  p  per  share  for  immediate
cancellation.

Following this purchase 113,770,288 ordinary shares remain in issue.
