IXICO announces NHS emergency and out-of-hours services development contract

Supporting personalised care pathways in dementia

30 March 2016, IXICO plc (Ticker: IXI) ('IXICO' or the 'Company'), the brain health company, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a development contract by SBRI Healthcare (the Small Business Research Initiative for Healthcare) for the further development and integration of MyBrainBook, its digital platform designed to support people with dementia, with NHS urgent and emergency care service providers in London.

Building on previous work, this initiative will provide urgent and emergency care services including 111 and GP out-of-hours services with real-time access to a combination of clinical, social care and care planning information, including escalation planning information, directly from MyBrainBook users to help support personalised care pathways in dementia.  The six month project will be led by IXICO in partnership with Healthy London Partnership.

Commenting on the contract, Derek Hill, CEO of IXICO, said:

"We are delighted to be working in collaboration with SBRI Healthcare.  This initiative not only extends the value of MyBrainBook, but enables us to work in partnership with the NHS to ensure that patients with dementia are treated in a more tailored and effective way."

Eileen Sutton, NHS Lead for Integrated Urgent Care (111 & GP out-of-hours) Programme for London at Healthy London Partnership, said:

"Our programme works with a range of crisis and care planning partners to provide NHS 111 callers with a more coordinated service.  We are looking forward to working with IXICO to provide greater personalised care for people with dementia who use the MyBrainBook platform."
