DIRECTORS' INTERESTS

We hereby notify you that on 8 June 2000 Mr Mathew Ingle, a Director of the
Company, was granted an option over 23,619 ordinary shares under the terms of
the MFI Furniture Group Plc 2000 Share Option Plan Portfolio at an exercise
price of 64.1 pence per share. Mr Ingle was also granted a contingent award
of 5,904 ordinary shares under the terms of the MFI Furniture Group Plc Share
Performance Plan

The Company was notified of the above interests of Mr Ingle on 9 June 2000 in
accordance with Section 324 of the Companies Act 1985.
