easyJet PLC 02 August 2004 easyJet plc ('easyJet') The board of easyJet has received, and accepted, the resignation of Nick Hartley as a director of the company with immediate effect. He has been a director of easyJet plc since March 2000. Although Mr Hartley's term of office is not due to expire until November 2004, he has tendered his resignation in the light of the increased demands on his time as Chairman of Stelmar Shipping and his other commitments. Nick Hartley said: 'I have enjoyed my association with easyJet very much, from the earliest days of the business strategy formulation before the first flight until the present time. easyJet is a great company with great people.' Sir Colin Chandler, Chairman of easyJet said: 'While fully understanding Nick Hartley's reasons for resigning from the Board, my colleagues and I will miss his significant contribution and, on behalf of the Board, I would like to express many thanks and much appreciation and best wishes for the future.'
