ALLOTMENT OF ORDINARY SHARES


The Directors of British Smaller Companies VCT plc announce the allotment of
896,115 Ordinary shares of 10 pence each in association with the Offer for
Subscription for the tax year 2005/06 at a price of 99.5 pence per share on 22
March 2006.


The subscription lists for the Offer will be open until 5.00 p.m. on 4 April
2006.
