REPURCHASE OF SHARES

The Board of Baronsmead VCT 2 plc announces that on 28 August 2003 the Company
purchased for cancellation 70,000 ordinary shares of 10p at a price of 84.5p.

Following this purchase there are now 41,054,300 ordinary shares of 10p in
issue.
