Boomerang Wins KidScreen Children's Pre-school Award

Boomerang Plus plc (AIM: BOOM.L), a profitable and vertically integrated, multi-genre, independent television production group, is pleased to announce that its programme Ble Mae Cyw? won the Best One-Off, Special or TV Film in the Pre-School category at the KidScreen Awards on Thursday, 17 February 2011, the world's leading children's television summit, held in New York.

The feature length film for S4C's daily nursery service Cyw (the Welsh word for chick) follows some of S4C's best-loved nursery characters as they look to find missing chick Cyw. The hit film beat off stiff international competition.

Boomerang is one of the largest Children's producers by volume in the UK, producing 256 hours for the 2010 calendar year, and has achieved major recognition for its Children's content over recent years. ABC, a pre-school series for S4C that uses a mixture of live action puppetry and animation to introduce children to the Welsh alphabet, won the Children's Programme Award at the Royal Television Society Programme Awards 2009. Boomerang's Welsh language production of the family film, Rhestr Nadolig Wil (Wil's Christmas List), for S4C, won the drama category at the 2009 BAFTA Children's Awards; also nominated for the 2010 KidScreen Tween/Teens Category for Best One-Off, Special or TV Movie.

Commenting on the award, Angharad Garlick, of Boomerang's Children's Department, said:

"It is brilliant to be producing Children's content which is regarded alongside some of the world's best. We cherish the relationship we have with S4C and echo its commitment to broadcasting children's programming of the highest quality. Boomerang is proud of its contribution to the pre-school programme service and proud too of its talented team specialising in this field."
