The  Board of the Morgan Grenfell Latin American Companies Trust PLC announces
that  the Company has today purchased for cancellation 50,000 ordinary  shares
in the Company at a price of 76.5p per share.

Following this purchase there are now 53,841,050 ordinary shares in issue.
