Amendment to Director Dealing - 15 February 2006

Announcement of Director's interests in securities by The Alliance Trust PLC   

The annoucement made at 16.12 pm on 15 February 2006 contained errors in that the stated interests 
of Mr Alan Young, Director were ascribed to Mrs Sheila Ruckley, Director, and Mrs Sheila Ruckley's 
interests were misstated.

Also certain interests of directors in shares held by the Trustee of the Employee Benefit Trust were
stated to be non-beneficial where as they are deemed to be beneficial by reason of each directors 
potential interest in some of them.

The corrected annoucement appears below.
