Strategic Commercial Collaboration Agreement with Sirane Central Americana

Collaboration to expand Symphony technologies across fresh-produce and food-packaging markets

Symphony Environmental Technologies Plc (AIM: SYM), the global specialist in technologies designed to enhance the environmental performance and functionality of plastics, is pleased to announce that it has entered into a strategic Collaboration Agreement with Sirane Central Americana ("Sirane"), a Mexico-based producer of specialist food-packaging solutions.

The agreement establishes a framework for Symphony and Sirane to market and develop commercial opportunities for each other's respective products, including introducing Symphony's wider range of technologies into markets and customer opportunities accessible to Sirane, alongside the development of Sirane products incorporating Symphony technologies.

The agreement also provides for customer introductions, cross-selling opportunities, joint marketing and co-branding activities, and the potential manufacture of products for each other under separately agreed commercial terms.

The Collaboration Agreement represents the next stage in the commercial relationship between Symphony and Sirane following Symphony's announcement on 15 September 2026 concerning independent testing of its d2p® Ethylene Adsorber ("d2p® EA") technology and its first commercial supply to Sirane. The London Stock Exchange records Symphony's d2p® ethylene adsorber test-results and first-order announcement as published on that date.

Broader commercial collaboration

Under the Collaboration Agreement, Symphony and Sirane will cooperate on the marketing and commercial development of their respective products. This includes introducing prospective customers, developing cross-selling opportunities, cooperating on marketing, promotional activities and co-branding, and potentially manufacturing products for each other under separately agreed commercial terms.

This creates opportunities for Symphony's wider technology portfolio to be introduced into Sirane's established customer base and into markets served by Sirane.

Sirane has advised Symphony that it has a substantial position in its relevant specialist packaging markets in Mexico, including established applications for blackberries and raspberries, and is expanding its activities into packaging applications for tomatoes and blueberries. Sirane has also advised that its sales are growing in other parts of Latin America.

The collaboration therefore provides Symphony with an established commercial route through which its technologies could be introduced to appropriate customers in Mexico, US and across the wider Latin American region.

The commercial-intermediation activities specified in the agreement are principally focused on the United States, while the agreement preserves the parties' ability to engage elsewhere unless otherwise agreed.

The agreement has an initial term of two years, with provision for automatic extension for a further two years unless terminated in accordance with its terms.

Current projects incorporating Symphony technologies

An immediate focus of the collaboration is the enhancement of Sirane's existing fresh-produce packaging products through the incorporation of Symphony's d2p® EA active packaging technology, adding an active ethylene-adsorption function to Sirane's existing packaging solutions.

Ethylene is naturally produced by many fruits and vegetables and accelerates ripening and deterioration. Symphony's d2p® EA technology is designed to reduce ethylene concentrations within packaging, with the aim of helping to maintain produce quality and marketable life during storage, transportation and retail display.

The collaboration follows Symphony's first commercial supply of d2p® EA masterbatch to Sirane for incorporation into absorbent packaging pads.

Sirane's existing and developing fresh-produce packaging applications therefore provide a number of potential markets for d2p® EA, including blackberries, raspberries, tomatoes and blueberries, where Sirane and Symphony intend to explore appropriate applications of the technology.

Evaluation of d2w®

In parallel, Sirane is currently evaluating Symphony's d2w® biodegradable technology for incorporation into its products.

Subject to successful evaluation, Symphony and Sirane intend to explore the opportunity to incorporate d2w® alongside d2p® EA across relevant parts of Sirane's product range, thereby combining Symphony's ethylene-adsorption technology with its d2w® technology within Sirane packaging products.

This has the potential to broaden the collaboration beyond d2p® EA and provides a framework for Sirane to evaluate and introduce other appropriate technologies from Symphony's portfolio across its product range and customer markets.

Meat packaging and d2p® antimicrobial technology

Sirane has also advised Symphony that it has completed development work on its absorbent tray-pad technology for meat packaging, designed to absorb liquids released by meat products.

As a further development under the collaboration, Sirane is presently evaluating the potential incorporation of Symphony's d2p® antimicrobial technology into this application.

This represents a separate potential application for Symphony technology within Sirane's portfolio and demonstrates the wider scope of the Collaboration Agreement beyond fresh-produce packaging.

Taken together, these projects provide a pipeline of potential applications for Symphony's d2p® EA, d2w® and d2p® antimicrobial technologies across Sirane's fresh-produce and food-packaging activities.

Independent validation of d2p® EA

As announced by Symphony on 15 September 2026, independent testing conducted by AIMPLAS, an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory, demonstrated significant ethylene reduction using Symphony's d2p® EA technology.

Across six test conditions after 48 hours, d2p® EA reduced ethylene concentrations by between 16.8% and 46.7%, compared with reductions of 0.8% to 4.0% for conventional polyethylene control films under the same test conditions. Static and pulse testing assessed both adsorption capacity and sustained ethylene removal.

Separate banana trials conducted in Spain and South Africa demonstrated quality benefits over a 14-day period, including reduced skin discolouration and sugar-spot formation, with no effect on taste.

Symphony has developed d2p® EA as a scalable masterbatch technology capable of incorporation into a range of plastic-packaging formats, including films, liners, bags, trays, lid films and absorbent pads for ethylene-sensitive fruits and vegetables.

The collaboration with Sirane therefore provides a commercial platform through which the benefits demonstrated in Symphony's development and independent testing programmes can be incorporated into Sirane's packaging solutions and presented to potential customers.

Commercial outlook

The parties believe that the combination of Sirane's existing market presence, its expanding product applications and the Symphony technologies being supplied or evaluated under the collaboration provides a platform for further commercial growth.

Symphony expects sales of its d2p® products through the relationship to show good growth over the next 12 months and beyond, although the timing and scale of future sales will depend upon the successful completion of ongoing evaluations, customer adoption and commercial roll-out.

Joint Statements

Michael Laurier, Chief Executive of Symphony Environmental Technologies Plc, said:

"Our announcement on 15 September demonstrated the technical performance of d2p® EA and marked its first significant commercial deployment. This Collaboration Agreement with Sirane represents an important next step, moving our relationship from technical validation and initial supply into a broader strategic commercial collaboration.

"The agreement is much wider than d2p® EA alone. It creates a framework through which Symphony and Sirane can introduce each other's technologies and products to customers and markets, combining our respective technical and commercial capabilities to develop new opportunities together.

"An immediate example is the enhancement of Sirane's fresh-produce packaging with our d2p® EA technology. Sirane already has packaging applications for blackberries and raspberries and is expanding into tomatoes and blueberries, providing a number of potential applications for our technology.

"In parallel, Sirane is evaluating our d2w® biodegradable technology for incorporation into its products. Subject to the outcome of that evaluation, we see the potential for d2w® and d2p® EA to be incorporated together across relevant parts of Sirane's product range, combining two important Symphony technologies within a single packaging solution.

"There is also the potential to expand the relationship beyond fresh produce. Sirane has completed development of its absorbent tray-pad technology for meat packaging and is evaluating the potential incorporation of our d2p® antimicrobial technology into this application.

"We therefore see this as a platform for several Symphony technologies rather than a single-product relationship. With Sirane's established commercial position in Mexico and its growing sales elsewhere in Latin America, we expect sales of d2p® products through the relationship to show good growth over the next 12 months and beyond."

Juan Galván Acosta, Director of Sirane Central Americana:

"We are pleased to formalise our collaboration with Symphony following the work already undertaken with d2p® EA.

"Sirane has established a substantial position in our specialist packaging markets in Mexico, including applications for blackberries and raspberries, and we are expanding our activities into tomatoes and blueberries, as well as growing our sales in other parts of US and Latin America.

"For Sirane, the opportunity is not only to combine our fresh-produce packaging knowledge and products with Symphony's active ethylene-adsorption technology, but also to build a broader commercial relationship through which both companies can introduce complementary technologies and products to our respective customers and markets.

"We are also evaluating Symphony's d2w® technology for incorporation into our products and, subject to successful evaluation, the potential to use d2w® together with d2p® EA across relevant parts of our product range.

"In addition, our development of absorbent tray-pad technology for meat packaging creates a further opportunity, and we are evaluating the potential incorporation of Symphony's d2p® antimicrobial technology into this application.

"We believe that Sirane's commercial reach and packaging expertise, combined with Symphony's portfolio of technologies, provides an exciting platform from which both companies can develop new products and commercial opportunities."

Michael Laurier concluded:

"This agreement is about considerably more than the supply of masterbatch. It establishes a commercial framework in which Symphony and Sirane can combine technologies, products, customer relationships and market knowledge to pursue opportunities together.

"Food waste remains a major global economic and environmental challenge, and d2p® EA provides us with an immediate and important commercial application for the collaboration. At the same time, Sirane's evaluation of d2w® and the potential application of d2p® antimicrobial technology to its meat-packaging solution demonstrate the wider possibilities for Symphony technologies within Sirane's product portfolio.

"Given Sirane's established position in Mexico, its developing applications across different food categories and growing sales elsewhere in Latin America, we believe the collaboration provides a significant commercial platform through which Symphony can develop opportunities for d2p® EA, d2w®, d2p® antimicrobial and other appropriate technologies from our portfolio."
