Strategic Minerals plc

("Strategic Minerals" or the "Company")

Proposed Appointment of Non-Executive Director

Strategic Minerals (AIM: SML; USOTC: SMCDF), an international mineral exploration and production company, is pleased to announce the intended appointment of Luke Rogers as an independent Non-Executive Director of the Company subject to the completion of customary Nominated Adviser due diligence.

Mr Rogers has extensive international experience in mining and operations, having worked in the industry for over 15 years as a mining executive and engineer with a particular focus on critical and strategic minerals. His experience spans mine development and operations, as well as project evaluation and investment across Africa, Europe and South America. He is currently Technical Director at Balta SA and has also held senior leadership positions with various mining companies, including Aterian PLC and TechMet Ltd.

Mr Rogers also has significant regional knowledge and strong relationships in Cornwall, where the Company's flagship Redmoor Tungsten-Tin-Copper Project ("Redmoor") is located, through his role as an elected Cornwall Councillor representing St Ives East, Lelant and Carbis Bay.

The Board believes this combination of mining expertise and local knowledge is well suited to the next phase of development at Redmoor.

Charles Manners, Executive Chairman, commented:

"Luke's proposed appointment to the board comes at a pivotal time for the Company. His mine development and operating experience combined with his strong links in Cornwall will be invaluable to our efforts as we continue to accelerate Redmoor, and work towards establishing a new domestic source of tungsten, tin and copper in the UK."

Luke Rogers, Non-Executive Director, commented:

"As a Cornish Councillor and career-long mining engineer, I am hugely excited by the potential of the Redmoor project, both an important Western source of critical minerals and as a significant future contributor to Cornwall's economy. I look forward to working with the team to support Strategic Minerals and Redmoor's ongoing development."

The appointment of Mr Rogers is subject to customary Nominated Adviser due diligence and a further announcement, containing customary disclosures pursuant to Rule 17 and Schedule Two paragraph (g) of the AIM Rules for Companies, will be made in the near future.
