PERSIMMON PLC ('the Company')

The Company was informed on 7 March 2000 that on 6 March 2000 Mr David
Thompson (a non-executive director of the Company) purchased for his wife,
daughter and son a total of 7,700 Persimmon ordinary shares at prices between
184p and 185p.  Mr Thompson and his family now hold 26,700 Persimmon ordinary
shares.
