$8m follow-on order with US Company

Follow-on order strengthens Filtronic’s position as market leader in mmWave satellite payload technology

Filtronic plc (AIM: FTC), the designer and manufacturer of advanced RF solutions for the space, aerospace, defence and telecoms infrastructure markets, has secured a follow-on contract with a US-based customer for the design, development and build of prototype units to be deployed on satellites, with a total contract value of $8m (£5.9m).

Today’s contract award follows on from the $0.5m (£0.4m) initial development contract announced in June 2026 and represents a significant expansion of the customer relationship. This also adds to the $8.0m order placed by the same US customer in March 2026 for amplifier technology. The contract further demonstrates the strength of Filtronic’s ability to develop and deliver highly advanced mmWave technology for satellite payload applications and reinforces Filtronic’s growing position across the satellite communications market.

The contract is expected to be completed in H1 FY2028, with revenue expected to be recognised across FY2027 and FY2028, providing further visibility over future revenues.

Nat Edington, Chief Executive Officer, said: “Being awarded this significant follow-on contract with our recently secured US customer demonstrates the growing relationship and the confidence they have in Filtronic’s technical expertise. Our ability to develop and deliver highly advanced mmWave technology at pace is enabling us to establish ourselves as a trusted partner in the rapidly growing satellite market. We are delighted to be expanding our role in this programme and look forward to continuing to support our customer as the technology progresses towards deployment.”
