BCP's Share Capital Increase Fully Subscribed
Lisbon, 21 March 2001: Banco Comercial Portugues (BCP) announced today that the
share capital increase from 2,101,562,549 Euro to 2,269,687,552 Euro by issuance
of 168,125,003 ordinary registered shares, with a par value of 1 Euro each, was
fully subscribed.
The subscribed shares during the subscription period reached 164,685,690 shares
representing 98% of the total number of rights issued.
BCP shall allot the 3,439,313 shares that were not subscribed by shareholders
exercising their right of preference to other shareholders that have indicated
their interest in such additional allotment, the results of such process to be
made public on 22 March 2001. The requests for subscribing shares under such
additional allotment reached 1,395,209,347 shares.
The settlement of shares subscribed by shareholders exercising their right of
preference will take place on 21 March 2001 and the settlement of shares
subscribed under the allotment process shall occur on 26 March 2001.
BCP also announced that it has requested to the Executive Committee of the
Lisbon Stock Exchange the listing in its Official Market of all the shares to be
issued under this share capital increase.
