Gamma Communications surged after agreeing to a recommended cash offer from Epiris-backed Bradbury Bidco. The private equity bidder is offering 1,120p per share in cash, valuing the AIM-listed communications specialist at around £1.02bn. The offer represents a 53% premium to Gamma's undisturbed share price and follows weeks of bid speculation. With the stock having closed at 1,140p before the announcement, the shares were effectively anchored around the offer valuation as the market digested the agreed terms and the path to completion in the first half of 2027.
Bodycote was another corporate activity winner after the
heat-treatment specialist recommended a cash acquisition by Veritas Capital.
Shareholders are set to receive total value of 940p per share, comprising 932.8p
in cash plus the retained interim dividend. The deal values Bodycote at
approximately £1.64bn and concludes a competitive process involving several
prospective bidders. The shares moved sharply higher towards the offer level
from their previous valuation, reflecting the certainty provided by the agreed
bid terms and the sizeable premium attached to the transaction.
Capricorn Energy advanced after recommending a higher all-cash offer from Norwegian producer DNO, eclipsing the previously agreed transaction with Genel Energy. The proposal values Capricorn at US$5.214 per share, equivalent to roughly 384p per share, including a planned special dividend. The offer values the group at around US$396m (£292m) and represents a 10% improvement on the earlier Genel proposal. The stock reacted by moving up towards the new offer value as attention shifted to shareholder approvals and regulatory clearances.
