Aston Martin Lagonda

It might have been a solid start to the session for the luxury sportscar manufacturer Aston Martin Lagonda after the company published full year numbers, but the gains proved to be short lived. The results were something of a mixed bag, with volumes, revenues and margins all under pressure, but management struck a more optimistic note in terms of the outlook whilst average selling prices also worked their way higher. Early support for the stock however proved to be short lived despite the prospect of a material improvement in the financial performance for FY25 being tipped to deliver positive adjusted EBIT this year and free cash flow in the second half. The Aston Martin share price was around 5% higher shortly after the open, but sentiment flipped and the stock was trading down by 6% at 8.30am.

Convatec

The FTSE-100 listed Med Tech company Convatec published full year numbers this morning, noting that strategic delivery had successfully resulted in double digit adjusted EPS and cashflow growth. Operating profit margins were up by 1.9%, there’s confidence that the momentum can be sustained into FY 25 and shareholders are set to receive a 3% uptick in dividends. The Convatec share price was almost 6% higher in early trade.

Hikma Pharmaceuticals

The multinational pharma group released full year numbers this morning which whilst positive, failed to find support in the market. Revenues advanced 9% and whilst core operating profit growth was lacklustre, the numbers were still within the upgraded range that had been communicated last year. Shareholders are benefitting from an 11% increase in dividend and the outlook remains upbeat too with momentum set to be maintained. However, the Hikma share price was 9% lower shortly after the open.
