Update on Teachers TV, and launch of Schoolsworld

Ten Alps Plc ("Ten Alps" or the "company") has signed an agreement with the Department for Education to continue the Teachers TV service beyond the end of government funding.

The service will have a new brand, Schoolsworld, at web address www.schoolsworld.tv.

Ten Alps has signed a non-exclusive distribution agreement. It will provide the full video content from Teachers TV, consisting of the current library of nearly 3,500 videos, from May 2011. Government funding ended at the end of April.

Ten Alps intends to develop the service into not only a continuing professional development provider to the education profession in the UK, but also as a provider of educational videos to pupils and parents - thus reaching a wider target audience.

The Directors will seek to develop Schoolsworld internationally, on an advertising sales and subscription-driven commercial basis. Sponsorship-driven models will be explored, particularly in African countries. Ten Alps has been in discussion with both sovereign governments and companies as to how to best use this world-class education video library.

"We are delighted to have agreed with the Department for Education to continue providing this valuable, market-leading training resource to teachers and school staff beyond the end of government funding," said Ten Alps Chairman Peter Bertram.

Ten Alps plans to run the project in its TV & Education business, specifically within online education unit DBDA. Founder Dawn Boyfield MBE said:

"Our aspiration, once we've introduced the new site and business, is to build upon this valuable, world-leading library, creating a dynamic international education resource."

Ten Alps has been majority provider of Teachers TV since its inception in 2005, through subsidiaries Education Digital and Education Digital 2. The public sector contract, which fully funded the service, was terminated in October 2010 as part of the Government's spending review.
