AUGUST 2023 TRAFFIC AND CO2 EMISSION STATISTICS

WIZZ AIR CARRIED 6.1 MILLION PASSENGERS, AN INCREASE OF 24% YEAR-ON-YEAR

Geneva, 4 September 2023: Wizz Air Holdings Plc ("Wizz Air"), the fastest growing and one of the most sustainable European airlines, today announces passenger and CO2 emission statistics for August 2023.

In August 2023, Wizz Air carried 6,143,859 passengers, representing a 23.9% increase compared to August 2022, at a load factor of 94.1%.

The airline continued to grow its network and improve its customer offering in August. During the month:

·      Wizz Air had a completion rate of 99.6%*, higher than any other European low cost carrier;

·      Wizz Air UK announced a new route from London Luton Airport to Sphinx International Airport near Cairo, Egypt. The new route will take UK travellers to a perfect destination from which to explore the city of Giza and the vibrant Egyptian capital;

·      Wizz Air celebrated 65 million passengers travelling from London Luton Airport. As the airport's largest carrier with 12 aircraft, Wizz Air currently operates around 100 flights per day across 58 routes;

·      Wizz Air Hungary cabin crew training organization, which provides initial cabin crew training, obtained approval from the Ministry of Construction and Transport in Hungary to issue cabin crew attestation. Wizz Air is the first airline in the country whose training organization can issue this type of international document on behalf of the Hungarian Civil Aviation Authority. Additionally, this document will be valid in all EU countries;

·      Wizz Air consistently reports the lowest CO2 emissions per passenger/km among its competitor airlines, with 51.9 grams per passenger/km for the rolling 12 months to 31 August 2023. For the month of August, CO2 emissions were 50.5 grams per passenger/km (5.3% lower than the same month last year).
