Appointment of Adviser and Notice of Results

The Board of Wilmington Group plc ('the company') is pleased to announce that
it has appointed Hoare Govett Limited, a member of the ABN AMRO Group, as
financial adviser and sole broker to the company with immediate effect.

The company also announces that it will release its interim results for the
six months to 31 August 2001 on Tuesday 16 October 2001.
