Velocys to participate in CNBC Global Energy debate

Velocys plc (VLS.L), the technology innovator for smaller scale gas-to-liquids (GTL), is pleased to announce that its CEO, Roy Lipski, will be participating in CNBC International's final global energy debate on Wednesday 11th December.

CNBC International, in association with Shell, is hosting the event with SquawkBox anchor, Geoff Cutmore. Also joining the event will be The Rt Hon Gregory Barker MP, Minister of State for Energy & Climate Change, Dr Christoph Frei, Secretary General of the World Energy Council, Prof John Loughhead from The UK Energy Research Centre, Prof Roger Cashmore, Chairman of the UK Atomic Energy Centre, Angela Knight, Chief Executive of Energy UK, Chris Faulkner CEO, Breitling Energy Corporation and Prof Friedbert Pfluger from the European Centre for Energy, amongst others, for this finale debate of the series.

This senior panel studio discussion will be reviewing the outcomes from this year's previous three CNBC events in London, Bangkok and Delhi and will ask how to support the innovation of energy, cleaner transport, an efficiency of fuel mix, and how to bring these issues back onto the political agenda and navigate short termism.

The discussion will feature heavily in a special CNBC documentary, which will air shortly afterwards. Highlights will appear on CNBC International and on the Energy Opportunities website: www.energyopportunities.tv.

Notes to editors

Velocys (formerly Oxford Catalysts) enables modular gas-to-liquids (GTL) plants to convert unconventional, remote and problem gas into valuable liquid fuels. Systems based on the Company's technology are significantly smaller than those using conventional technology, enabling modular plants that can be deployed cost effectively in remote locations and on smaller fields than is possible with competing systems. Together with world-class partners, Velocys provides complete modular GTL solutions that address an untapped market of up to 25 million barrels of fuel a day

Velocys plc is listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange (LSE: VLS). The Company has approx. 100 employees with facilities in Houston, Texas, USA and near Oxford, UK and Columbus, Ohio, USA.
