Director's Interest in shares

It has been brought to my attention that Robert Nathaniel Myers currently has an
interest in 7,659,202 ordinary shares in United Overseas Group Plc.

Mr Myers therefore has an interest in 530,000 more shares than was indicated in
the annual audited accounts for the year ending 31 December 1999 and subsequent
publications including a brokers' note dated 17 November 2000.

The interest in these shares had been omitted from publication as a result of an
administrative oversight.
