Electra Private Equity Plc announces that on 2 December 2008 the Company purchased 250,000 of its own ordinary shares of 25p each for cancellation representing 0.7% of the issued share capital at a price of £8.08 per share.

Following this transaction the Company now has 35,338,687 ordinary shares of 25p each in issue.
