In accordance with Listing Rule 15.9, Electra announces that on 15 December 
2003 it purchased for cancellation 12,000 Ordinary Shares of 25p each at an 
average price of 665p per Ordinary Share.

Following this transaction Electra has 65,159,533 Ordinary Shares of 25p in 
issue.
