Director/PDMR Shareholding

In light of the guidance issued by the FSA on 9 January 2009 in relation to obligations to disclose security granted over shares, Tullow Oil plc (the ''Company'') announces that Graham Martin, a Director of the Company, has granted security over 999,149 ordinary shares in the Company held by him in favour of his bank, SG Hambros Bank Limited, as security against a personal loan entered into in May 2006. While the personal loan was repaid in full in July 2008, the loan facility and security arrangement remain in place in respect of any future borrowings.
