TBI PLC 5 October 2001 5th October 2001 TBI WELCOMES CONTINUATION OF BMI HEATHROW SERVICES AT BIA Commenting on today's announcement by bmi british midland that it will reinstate four daily services between Belfast International Airport and Heathrow, Keith Brooks, CEO of TBI plc said: 'We are delighted at the successful outcome of our negotiations with bmi british midland to reinstate London Heathrow services from Belfast International Airport. BMI are now offering just under 400,000 seats on the Heathrow service from Belfast International which goes a long way to replacing the BA service. The bmi decision underlines the obvious demand by the travelling public to use the facilities and infrastructure offered by Belfast International Airport. It is critical that Northern Ireland as a region has access to this vital link. Belfast International has unrestricted capacity, enabling airlines to offer full and frequent services. As Northern Ireland's primary gateway, we are continuing in our negotiations with other airlines, in order to further develop the London market generally and Heathrow in particular. This decision by bmi illustrates the potential of this market'. -ends- Enquiries: TBI plc 020 7408 7300 Keith Brooks Caroline Price Buchanan Communications 020 7466 5000 Tim Anderson
