                    Market Purchase of Company's Own Shares


Notification is given that pursuant to the authority granted at the
Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company held on 24 July 2007 to make market
purchases of the Company's own Sigma Shares of 12.5p, a market purchase of
100,000 ordinary shares of 12.5p each in the capital of the Company was made
today at an average price of 88.328p per share.

Following this purchase and cancellation there will be 131,695,747 Sigma Shares
of 12.5p each and 261,350,000 Ordinary Shares of 25p each in issue.

The capital of the Company with full voting rights is now 393,045,747. This
figure may be used as the denominator for calculations of interests in the
Company's voting rights.
