The Company was informed on 23 March 2006 by The Goldman Sachs Group Inc. ('GS
Inc') that GS Inc, as at close of business on 21 March 2006, was interested in,
by attribution only, a total of 48,137,753 ordinary shares of 1p each in the
Company ('Ordinary Shares') representing 14.69 per cent. of the Company's
current total issued ordinary share capital of 327,681,191 Ordinary Shares.

The Company was further informed on 27 March 2006 that GS Inc, as at close of
business on 23 March 2006, was interested in, by attribution only, a total of
49,032,039 Ordinary Shares representing 14.96 per cent. of the Company's current
total issued ordinary share capital.
