Torex Retail PLC 25 March 2004 TOREX RETAIL PLC (the 'Company') BOARD APPOINTMENT Torex Retail plc, one of the UK's leading retail software businesses, today announces the appointment of Jurgen Heck, Managing Director of the Company's High Street Retail - Europe business unit, to the Board as an executive director, with immediate effect. Since 1983, Jurgen, aged 52, has been the CEO of Logware, a subsidiary of the Company since its acquisition in June 2003, and has been a key factor in its successes and growth over the past 20 years. In that time Jurgen has overseen the development of Logware into a specialist, retail industry software developer acquiring clients in Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria and the UK. Logware has also produced a Java point of sale product, LUCAS, which the Directors believe is one of the leading solutions in Europe and forms the basis of a product offering that will be marketed and rolled out across Europe. Commenting on the appointment, Robert Loosemore, CEO of Torex Retail plc, said: 'Jurgen Heck has already made a fantastic contribution to the growth of Torex Retail in a relatively short period of time and provides a valuable addition to the Board.
