The Transaction in Own Shares announced today the 24 May 2007, quoted the price
paid as GBP 3.455 per ordinary share, however it should have stated 3.445 per
ordinary share. All other details remain the same.

Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust PLC announces that, on 24th May
2007, it bought for cancellation 1,850,000 ordinary shares in the market at an
average price of GBP3.445 per ordinary share. There remain 531,284,915 shares in
issue.
