Synchronica Wins Contract with Mobile Operator in Belgium

Agreement is the second sell-through of acquired AxisMobile technology

Synchronica plc (AIM: SYNC), the mobile e-mail and synchronisation specialist, is pleased to announce a licensing agreement for its push e-mail software with a mobile operator ("Operator") in Belgium.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Operator will pay Synchronica a recurring license fee of €0.34 per subscriber per month with an initial minimum number of agreed licences. In addition, the Operator will pay €200,000 for setup and customisation plus a hosting fee of €3,000 per month, increasing with the number of subscribers.

Synchronica will offer a simple and user friendly mobile email solution based on WAP and xHTML for a wide variety of mass market devices without requiring an additional software client to be installed on the device. Features included in Synchronica's offering are a tri-lingual web portal in Dutch, French and English, mobile registration and customer self-care, consumer backends and document transcoding.

The Operator is a subsidiary of a pan-European mobile operator group and represents Synchronica's second contract with the group. The agreement marks the second sell-through of products adopted with the acquisition of the operating subsidiary of AxisMobile announced in August 2008.

The market for mobile Internet solutions holds significant opportunities for continued and sustained development on a global scale. Forrester predicts that consumer mobile email will generate revenues of €1.15 billion in Europe by 2008, and by 2009 the worldwide mobile email market is projected to reach a value of $3.5 billion according to Strategy Analytics.

Carsten Brinkschulte, CEO of Synchronica plc, said: "This is the fourth contract we have signed in three months and we are delighted to add to Synchronica's growing portfolio of customers. Significantly, this is the second contract based on technology we recently acquired with AxisMobile, demonstrating the revenue potential and the additional benefits the acquisition brings to the Synchronica and our customers."
