Closure of the Australian Certificated Register

Sylvania Platinum currently maintains:

(a)      a certificated register in Australia (Australian Register);

(b)      a certificated register in Jersey (Jersey Register); and

(c)      under the Jersey Register is an uncertificated register in the UK of depository interests (DIs and DI Register).

The DIs represents ordinary shares and is admitted to CREST, a computerised settlement system which enables trading and settlement of the Company's securities in uncertificated form. The CREST system is utilised for electronic settlement on the AIM Market of the London Stock Exchange (AIM). 

Following Sylvania's delisting from the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in April 2012, and in order to reduce the administrative burden of maintaining an additional register in Australia, the Company will be closing its certificated Australian register two months from the date of this announcement, being 10 December 2012 (Register Closure Date).  The Australian register is currently maintained by Computershare Investor Services Pty Ltd (Computershare). 

On the Register Closure Date, all members on record on the Australian register as at 7PM AEST will be automatically transferred to the Company's Jersey register.

Further information on what options will be available to shareholders transferred in certificated form to the Jersey Register to allow for certificated shares to be converted into DIs (to allow for electronic trading and settlement of these securities on AIM) will be provided in due course.
