                                Board Change

The Board of St Ives plc announces that Kenneth Pardey has indicated his wish
to retire.  Accordingly, he will be leaving the Board of the Company on 31st
January 2001.

Notes to editors:

  1.   Ken Pardey has been a Director of St Ives since 1986, having joined the
       board following the acquisition of Clays in that year.  He joined Clays
       in 1979.
  
  2.   He is currently Managing Director of St Ives Multimedia, in which role
       he will be succeeded by Stephen Hart.  He has also been responsible for
       Group purchasing and health and safety  these responsibilities have
       been assumed by other members of the management team.

  3.   Stephen Hart was Managing Director of St Ives Multimedia Tunbridge
       Wells from 1991 to 1995 and rejoins St Ives later in the summer to take
       up his new role.
