Aurum Mining PLC 01 February 2005 For immediate release 1 February 2005 AURUM MINING plc ('Aurum' or 'the Company') Appointment to the Board of Managing Director Aurum Mining plc (AIM: AUR), a company formed last year to acquire gold and other mineral extraction projects in the Former Soviet Union (FSU), is pleased to announce the appointment of John Webster to its Board as Managing Director following the Company's acquisition of Kaldora Company Ltd and the readmission of its share capital to trading on AIM this morning. John has more than 20 years' experience in mining engineering, specialising in mine evaluation and development in the countries of the FSU. He has held senior positions with Far East Gold, Nelson Gold and JD Welsh & Associates. He is a Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, The Society of Mining Engineers of AIME and the Society of Explosive Engineers. John is interested in 145,000 shares in Aurum, equivalent to 1.5 per cent of the Company's enlarged share capital, and in addition holds options over 1 million shares in Aurum at an exercise price of 84p per share.
