Severfield-Rowen Plc ('the Company') was advised on Monday 11 November 2002 that
certain of its directors had acquired ordinary shares in the Company.

The following share purchases took place on 11 November, all at 230p.

John Severs purchased 10,000 shares, giving a resultant beneficial Holding of
1,099,691 shares (5.45% of issued share capital).

Peter Levine purchased 10,000 shares, giving a resultant beneficial holding of
73,420 shares (0.36% of issued share capital).

Keith Elliott purchased 10,000 shares, giving a resultant beneficial holding of
79,514 shares (0.39% of issued share capital).

David Ridley purchased 10,000 shares, giving a resultant beneficial holding of
10,000 shares (0.05% of issued share capital)
