The Scottish American Investment Company PLC ('SAINTS')
purchased 21,690,994 units of 5p nominal each of Equities
Index Unsecured Loan Stock 2004 (EIULS) on 2 October 2000 at a
price of £3.04878 per unit. Following the transaction
7,590,830 units of 5p nominal stock remain outstanding. In
accordance with the Trust Deed governing the EIULS, the stock
purchased by SAINTS will be cancelled.
