was released at 17.35 on the 21st August, 2001. The price at which the shares

Repurchase of ordinary shares for cancellation

The Scottish American Investment Company plc announces that on 21 August 2001
it purchased for cancellation 200,000 ordinary shares in the market at a price
of 200.5p per ordinary share. There remain 150,254,943 ordinary shares in
issue.
