Appointment of Non-executive Director

Schroders plc today announces the appointment of Ashley Almanza to the Board as a Non-executive Director, effective immediately. Mr Almanza will also be a member of the Nominations Committee and the Audit and Risk Committee. 

Michael Miles, Chairman of Schroders, said 'We are delighted that Ashley is joining Schroders as a Non-executive Director. His experience as Chief Financial Officer of a major listed company will further strengthen the Board and the Audit and Risk Committee and I look forward to his contribution.'

Ashley Almanza (48) joined BG Group in 1993 and held a number of senior finance roles before being appointed an executive director and Chief Financial Officer of BG Group plc in 2002. He was also Managing Director, UK, Europe and Central Asia between 2009 and 2010. Mr Almanza stood down from his role as Chief Financial Officer at BG Group in March 2011 and is currently an Executive Vice President and member of the Group Executive Committee reporting to the Chief Executive.

Mr Almanza is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA from London Business School. He was Chairman of The Hundred Group of Finance Directors between 2007 and 2010 and is currently a member of the Advisory Board of the Oxford University Centre for Business Taxation. He is married with three children.
