second Interim Dividend

For The Year Ending 31 August 2008

Schroder Oriental Income Fund Limited (the 'Company') announces that the Directors of the Company have declared the payment of a second interim dividend of 2.95 pence per share for the year ending 31 August 2008 on the Ordinary Shares of the Company. 

The Company paid a first interim dividend of 2.475 pence per share in April, an increase of 10.0% on the first interim dividend of 2.25 pence per share paid last year. 

The total dividends for the year will be 5.425p per share, representing an increase of 9.6% on the total dividends of 4.95 pence per share paid last year.
