                   Ruffer Investment Company (the 'Company')


Ruffer Investment Company (the 'Company') announced on 16 October 2007 its
decision to offer shareholders a redemption facility for up to 25 per cent of
the Company's issued share capital. The Company will today post a redemption
notice to shareholders, which sets out the details of the redemption facility.

Copies of the redemption notice will be available for inspection at the
registered office of the Company, Trafalgar Court, Les Banques, St Peter Port,
Guernsey.
