ELECTROCOMPONENTS PLC ('The Company')



The Company was informed on the 28 February 2001 that Mr Nicholas Temple, Non
Executive Director of the Company sold 3,700 ordinary shares of 10p each on
the 27 February 2001 at a price of 679p per share.

As a result of the sale Mr Temple now holds 7,040 shares in the Company, which
represents less than 0.01% of the issued share capital.
