FTSE Reclassification

Norish PLC 21 July 2000 NORISH PLC FTSE RECLASSIFICATION The FTSE Global Classification Committee has announced that it plans to reclassify Norish plc ('Norish') as Industry Sector 58 'Support Services', sub sector 581 'Business Support Services' at the close of business today (Friday 21st July). The announcement, removing Norish from its current classification as Industry Sector 59 'Transport', more accurately reflects the nature of Norish's current business in the provision of warehousing and allied services to food and non-food sectors. Norish provides these services through ambient warehouses operated by its subsidiary, BWA, and in a temperature controlled environment via its cold storage division, Norish Food Care. Norish has concentrated on developing its business in Britain in recent years and has recently announced BWA's acquisition of the goodwill and fixed assets of RSH Flowers (Distribution) Ltd's ambient warehousing business based at Beningbrough, near York. Norish also recently expanded its cold storage network further in the market with the acquisition of East Kent Cold Storage Company Ltd.
