Purchase of own shares


NewMedia SPARK plc (the 'Company')



The Company announces that on 7th July it purchased 1,500,000 of its Ordinary
Shares of 2.5p at an average price of 10.46p per share.


These shares will be held in Treasury.


This purchase equates to 0.32% of the Company's issued share capital.


Following this purchase the Company has 472,735,729 Ordinary shares in issue of
which 12,750,000 are now held as Treasury shares.
