Following the sale of 350,000 RIT Capital Partners plc ('RITCP') ordinary
shares on 22 June 2001 by The Equitable Life Assurance Society ('The
Equitable') the disclosable shareholding of The Equitable in the ordinary
shares of RITCP is now 7,576,023 (4.83% of the issued ordinary share capital
of RITCP - previously 5.43%).
