RIT Capital Partners plc has today been advised by Lord Rothschild, a director
of the Company, that on 29 November 1999 he purchased 2,375,000 ordinary
shares at 385p per share.  This forms part of his beneficial interests.

Following this purchase Lord Rothschild's interests in RITCP are:

15,552,251 Ordinary shares with a Beneficial interest
 6,033,743 Ordinary shares with a Non-beneficial interest
£3,518,984 Convertible Unsecured Loan Stock with a Beneficial interest
   604,668 Convertible Unsecured Loan Stock with a Non-beneficial interest
